Welcome to Symbiotic Futures—a multimedia and multidisciplinary platform dedicated to reimagining the future beyond human-centred narratives. We explore symbiotic relationships with non-human species and non-living entities, shifting the conversation in bold new directions.
Inspired by posthuman philosophies, we ask: What makes us human? How do perspectives from other species—and even technology—reshape our ways of thinking, relating, and being in the world?
At Symbiotic Futures, we break down academic boundaries and challenge conventional thought. We believe in open collaboration and invite diverse voices to contribute, share, and co-create the future with us. Whether through interviews, submissions, or creative projects, we welcome your ideas.
Join us in pushing the limits of imagination, exploring new frontiers, and transforming the way we think about the future.

Venya Patel
Founder
Born in Gujarat, India, and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, Venya Patel comes from a varied cultural background.
She received her Research MA in social and political philosophy in the Netherlands and her BA major in philosophy and minor in politics in New Zealand.
Venya is a journalist and researcher who is passionate about animal welfare and reimagining progress as something other than humanism, Eurocentric civilisation, and hyper-technology.
She created Symbiotic Futures to build a community advocating for our fellow creatures and realising our symbiotic world as a new form of progress rooted in relations.
Since our existence has never been in isolation, and we depend on several beings to live, we have an obligation to deeply care for these relationships, take action to preserve them, and initiate new ones.
This is how we know others and ourselves and can be open to alternative ways of being, rooted in respect for life.
